WWDTM Statistics

As previously noted, I am an avid fan of NPR's weekly quiz show Wait, Wait... Don't Tell Me! (although some may call it a mini-obsession).

With that mini-obsession, I have built a database of various information and statistics about the each show, panelists and guests, and built a web page that presents the collected information and generated statistics.

So far, I have entered in some information for shows since the beginning of 2005 and am continually adding more panelist and guest scores as time allows. I am also including quick summaries and notes for each show and my rating of each show (on a scale of 10, 1 being meh, not my thing and 10 being freaking rocks!!!).

Feel free to peruse and submit any questions, corrections and comments to this blog post.

thank you! thank you! thank you!

I love that you have created this page. For just an example of why, for over a year I've been trying to remember the episode that opened with Carl's accidental slip - "Monica Lewinsk... um... Goodling." Easy to find now!

WWDTM stats question

Love your site! Just a quesion? What do the different colors indicate under the panelists column. I was originally guessing that red meant "winning panelist" but I'm not sure. I could find no key or legend explaining any of the color changes. Please advise...

Panelist Colors

I keep on procrastinating on updating the text and adding legends to the page.

For the panelist colors:

Dark Red: First place
Red: Tied for first place
Dark Green: Second place
Green: Tied for second place
Default/Black: Third place or Not Applicable (for "Best of" shows)

The intention for the colors was to make it easier for me to distinguish which panelist was first, second or third without looking at and comparing the scores.
